When Superwhisper fits
Superwhisper is a candidate when model selection matters to you. You can choose local speech recognition or a cloud voice model and configure the writing mode. Its documented context features also go beyond a plain transcript.
On Windows ARM64, the available local models differ from x64. Superwhisper documents Parakeet Multilanguage on ARM, while some Vulkan-dependent models are unavailable there. A local voice model alone does not make a later cloud editing step or destination app offline.
When fits
Choose when your task starts with your own thoughts and should end in a German text or a structured AI prompt. Context mode combines the content you provide with a spoken instruction; Auto-Prompt organizes the goal, context and requirements for an AI task.
Available for Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone. Speech and AI are processed exclusively within the EU, so an internet connection is part of this workflow. For a business rollout, choose the permitted data and destination apps before introducing dictation.
Try one writing task
Use the same non-confidential task and destination app. Speak a correction, a date and one negative statement. Check the final meaning and the effort you need to edit the text. Record the versions and settings you used; these are your own observations.
The customer asks for a delivery date and an additional item. Say: “Confirm 18 October, no, 19 October. The additional item is not included.” Check that the final text keeps the corrected date and the exclusion.
How to read the benchmark
The figures come from our internal German speech benchmark, confirmed on 2 October 2026. Manufacturer documentation supports product features, not our measurements. The methodology and raw data are not published here, so this is not an independently reproducible comparison. Processing time describes the measured processing step, not a guaranteed duration for a complete writing task. Other languages, devices and model configurations may produce different results.
reaches 99.99% word accuracy and 150 ms processing time in the internal comparison. Superwhisper has no recorded measurement in this benchmark, so no numerical winner between these two apps is claimed.
Data processing in your workflow
uses Zero Data Retention for speech processing. Account data, optional local history and text in your destination app have their own storage rules. For sensitive data, assess the actual workflow and contracts; a server region or a local model alone does not determine suitability.
